Watermill Splendor – Explore This Luxury Beach House Decor by Jessica Gersten

The interior Designer, Jessica Gersten, brought to life a stunning beach house decor where neutral tones and raw materials dance harmoniously. Watermill Splendor is a stunning project signed by the top interior designer, Jessica Gersten; it´s a design where organic shapes, raw materials, and natural light dance together, setting the tone for a charming beach house decor. Located in the heart of Hampton, Water Mill, is the weekend destination of a young family of five and a neutral paradise where they can detach from the hustling of New York City and enjoy quality time together. More Than a Vacation Home The interior designer, Jessica Gersten, started to work on this beach house project just before the pandemic – which makes this project even more special – since the homeowners decided to escape New York City during the lockdown and live in Water Mill – even though the house was empty and the furnishing was still to come. With only mattresses and an old sofa, the family moved in and experienced all the work that turned the empty place into a charming beach house. The young family participated in all the steps that assembled this stunning interior decor, from the furniture to the lighting installations. The homeowners waited for the residence and lived through its transformation and interior design process. Now, the Watermill Splendor occupies more than the space of a vacation home – but also the place where the family escaped from a thought time, sharing stories and dreaming about every home detail. The Doors are Open – Meet Watermill Splendor With cream colors as its background, this stunning beach house decor impresses thanks to its attention to detail and a thoughtful selection of items – from furniture to decor. It´s a paradise where neutral tones, raw materials, and ample spaces invite good moments. The first look at the residence suggests what to expect about the home narrative: in the entryway, a sculptural suspension lamp takes center stage in an area where neutral tones reign, and a grey round rug helps to improve the comfort of the clutter-free space – this lovely first impression makes it easy to imagine the rest of this beach house decor with neutral and organic details as its stars. Heading to the living room, we find another charming spot of this beach house decor – the area mixes organic furniture and raw materials. It uses neutral colors as its background and embraces natural light to create a paradise of comfort with subtle luxury touches. The essential rug in a grey tone covers the narrative of this interior while bringing the room together. Between neutral colors, wood furniture, and comfortable seating pieces – numerous art objects help to boost the room with character and style – from abstract paintings to sculptural vases – the details help to create a unique home decor where every detail improves the whole narrative. From room by room, the captivating beauty of neutral tone continues – embracing the beach house decor with a sense of luxury and harmony. Between ample spaces (a request from the homeowners to make it a kids´s environment), we discover more beautiful details of this home narrative. In the kitchen – neutral furniture and less decoration make the room bright and inviting, with the only touch of color coming from the stools in wood; the room echoes a symphony of natural inspiration. The white open space to the cream tone in the formal dining, where once more the light makes a statement and a straightforward dining table and dining chairs create an elegant scenario for family dinners. In a paradise where neutral tones reign and natural light dances, the bedrooms from this beach house decor are a charm apart and embrace the best seaside inspiration. From subtle shades to natural fabrics and fibers, each room welcomes a peaceful atmosphere where summer feelings remain throughout the year. Create Your Own Neutral Paradise Jessica Gersten created a beautiful beach house decor by skillfully incorporating rugs to create a comfortable, stylish, and natural atmosphere. Inspired by this beautiful design, we have curated a selection of stunning rugs from the TAPIS Studio Collection that would perfectly complement a neutral paradise: Simple but meaningful choices set the tone for this beach house decor, where neutral tones dictated the style for a remarkable weekend home where every minute seems calmer and peaceful. A New York Gem- Inside the Lively & Eclectic Home Style of Actress Patina Miller

The house of Patina Miller is colorful, bright, and full of beautiful details. Explore this dream Eclectic Home Style designed by Evan Edward design firm. The acclaimed actress, singer, and dancer Patina Miller opened the door to her dream house – where colors bring a stunning eclectic home style to life. Designed by the top architectural firm, Evan Edward, the abode in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan is full of beautiful inspirations and stunning details that assemble the home that the actress has always dreamed of. Discover what makes this the realization of Patina’s home goals as we explore it in a spectacular tour! The Eclectic Home Style Before diving into this home tour, let´s briefly review the style that helped turn the Patina Miller dream house real. The Eclectic Style is an excellent way to infuse interiors with playful and whimsical vibes while making it aesthetically pleasing and balanced. The eclectic home style combines textures, colors, shapes, and furniture to bring to life stunning interiors with no limit to creativity while preserving the space’s harmony; in the core of this interior design approach, we found a mix of patterns, textures, pop of colors, vintage and modern furniture pieces, statement objects and mostly harmony between all its choices. Eclectic home style is all about creating dream interiors where imagination can come to life – and that is what happened with the home of the actress Patina Miller, where this style helped to transform a dream into reality. A Dream Eclectic Family House Creativity, a mix of textures, pops of colors, and a lot of imagination are the main characteristics of the Eclectic Home Style – and we can also say it for the house of Patina Miller. The actress always dreamed about an open-plan space to create her family home – and when she and her husband, David Mars, found a 3.500 square-foot loft, they had no doubts that this would be their dream house. The couple then trusted the architectural firm, Evan Edward, to revitalize their family house- and design a scenario that would fulfill their desires and needs. For the family’s luck, it all happened right before the 2020´s lockdown, so this eclectic home style was also their salvation for those hard pandemic days – as they could spend it in this bright and full of character house. Are you curious about its design? So let´s explore this beautiful house and see what a dream would look like! The Open-Space Area Patina Miller always loved the idea of having integrated spaces – and this house is just as she dreamed of but with a rainbow twist that invites cozy and happy moments. This eclectic home style’s interior assembles a colorful dream full of modern pieces, meaningful objects, and stunning details. Even though in an open space, the designers, Josh Evan and Michael Edward from Evan Edward firm, delimited different zones for specific uses – a kitchen, a formal living room, a dining area, a cozy living, and even a library show up in the giant colorful open space. Each area has its beauty but complements the overall looking, creating a lasting impression that makes the eclectic home style the realization of Patina Miller’s home goals. The first area that pops ups when entering Patina Miller’s home is the formal living room and its stunning glamour – with a conversational sofa in blue tones, a stunning chandelier, a cozy rug, and beautiful furnishing (that creates harmony with the other areas). In resume, the space is glamorous simultaneously, original and unique. Leading to the dining room, the eye-catching table paired with coral-tone chairs and a meaningful painting by Patina Miller’s close friend, Troy Michie, balanced luxury with art. While in the friendly living, a blue navy sofa sets the tone for a meaningful area where blue, purple, and pink tones help to create a harmonious and inviting spot. The open-space loft also has a functional white kitchen that gives space to the other areas to shine and a charming library in pastel pink tones designed to complete the area without needing more furniture. Every spot and detail of this eclectic home style creates a balanced aesthetic and a sense of division, from the glamorous living area to the charming library. To make individual spaces, the designers used different rugs to delimit the areas, showing that these pieces are more than beautiful additions but also practical features to a home design. The Private Rooms Therefore, the colorful open-space area and this eclectic home style also have beautiful private rooms. The couple’s master bedroom was the first room the designers worked on; having this space was a specific desire from Patina Miler, who wished that her bedroom would look like a charming hotel room inviting more one night. As a result of Patina Miller’s request, the room is neutral with comfort furnishes and well-selected furniture; the big star here is the glass wall door that welcomes the inside in and highlights the beautiful balcony outside. A colorful world in pink tones appears in Patina Miller´s daughter’s bedroom and playroom – for that spot, the designers went for more creativity and embraced the colors to create a playful vibe. In both spaces, cozy rugs welcome a fun time on the floor and increase the space’s comfort and beauty. Shop Inspired by This Look In this colorful home, the eclectic style approach gives the interior a unique vibe full of personality and stylish choices, but the rugs have stolen the scene and helped to create a unique design. Inspired by Patina Miller’s stunning home, we have selected some rugs from the TAPIS Studio collection that would excellently match this scenario. Be inspired: Bright, colorful, and with the right personality – Patina Miller´s is the correct definition for a dream house and demonstrates that eclectic home style could be the perfect choice for an interior that calls for playful and harmonious vibes. Inside the Most Slender Skyscraper in the World – Rafael de Cárdenas Residence 66

Step inside this supertall skyscraper where a luxurious residence designed by Cárdenas is nestled. This residence, belonging to the second tallest home in the western hemisphere, was designed by Rafael de Cárdenas, a New York-based, to be more precise, Broadway-based, interior designer, architect, and creative director. Since 2006, his multidisciplinary studio has been working globally, specializing in commercial and residential interiors, art advisory, furniture design, and brand development. Known for his bold, refined, and geometric designs, Cárdenas started his career in the fashion department, working for Calvin Klein, and only after that he finally started dedicating his time to architecture seventeen years ago. From that time on, he’s been highly successful. He has already worked with Nike and Cartier, for example. Welcome to the skyscraper 111 West 57th Street in Manhattan, New York Focused over Central Park, New York, specifically in Midtown Manhattan, 111 West 57th Street, this second-tallest building in the West, and slender in the whole world, exhales luxury and sophistication. Cárdenas Residence 66 is settled, predictably, on the 66th floor. Thus, it has direct views north of the iconic Central Park and the rest of New York City. As the designer wished to capture and enhance this landscape even more, he chose to work with a greenish color scheme that would allow the natural panorama to flow and continue inside the house. However, he still wanted the color palette to fulfill the project’s elegance. Throughout this skyscraper home, diverse Rafael’s personal design characteristics can be seen, such as peculiar shapes and colors merged together. Now moving into the entryway, it’s finally noticeable to observe the contemporary nature of the interior design. This area, using grey macauba stone flooring with matching walls, doors, and even the silver artwork on top of the table and the lighting structures, evokes a sense of serenity and harmony. Still, the center table catches the eye subtly, with its acid green color, just as Cárdenas intended. His peculiar design spreads all over this skyscraper residence. In the living room, the mural on the wall exhales that glimpse of green color that he wanted to expand; it also brings the outdoor landscape indoors, as it recalls the sky and nature. He emphasized this area by adding a commode with golden doors and small flower details. He then balanced everything out with a unique neutral-color painting, a light vase with yellow flowers, a goldish and white bench, and some plain black details such as the chair, the limits around the commode, and the borders of the window. The designer could make this skyscraper interior design extra luxurious and still add color to it. For example, the vibrant velvet red rug and yellowish armchair that is also made out of velvet. This makes the fabric look like it is shining, giving the impression that it is a goldish color, yet more subtly and lavishly. Apart from that, the color green is present again on the couch, this time more gently and discreetly. The greenish wall painting that you have already seen is present again in the main bedroom, which, once again, is perfect for connecting the outside view to the inside as it has a ceiling-to-floor window. Another exciting element in this skyscraper area is the headboard with its curious pattern. It provides comfort, sophistication, and more creativity to the room. Besides, it also looks like it’s giving continuously to the mural. Now moving to the bathroom, one of the most lavish spaces in this skyscraper interior, it is possible to admire a combination of a natural yet rich design. This space provides a balanced aura, with both walls and floor covered in a beautiful marble stone that matches the shade used in a goldish, shiny metal bathtub. Aside from the matching walls and floor, another feature that boosts this room’s serenity is the fascinating window that perfectly fits the naturally shaped design. What an amazing tour! Now that this skyscraper interior design inspires you, we invite you to explore the best luxurious rugs by TAPIS Studio that will elevate your design project to another level.

Miami Apartment – Discover this Stylish Project by Broderic Design

Meet this small, but with a lot of style, seaside Miami apartment that mixes a beach spirit with a playful design. Settled in the seacoast of Miami, Florida, this apartment, belonging to Nicholas Smith, embraces its local oceanfront vibe with a twist of a colorful, vivid, and creative design. Ashlie Broderic, a New York-based interior designer specialized in residential and boutique commercial spaces, was responsible for this Miami apartment design. The designer has a master’s degree in interior design and architecture from Drexel University.  This design project, specifically, is one of the proofs that Broderic is always successful in displaying her client’s personality and taste in her work. According to the designer, all the over 100 inspirational photos that Nicholas showed her had something in common, everything had bold colors or a graphical black-and-white look. The interior designer then understood that what the client wanted was contrast. Therefore, to embrace a Miami spirit and flourish Nicholas’ bold and playful design taste, Broderic worked with diverse modern furnishings, vivid colors, and flashy patterns. In addition, the architect also revealed that she and her team based their furnishings choices on three concepts: fun, refined, and a masculine-chic aesthetic. They wouldn’t get it if their design element choices didn’t fit in one of these categories. Now passing into the living room, some typical Miami apartment references are visible, for example, the curvy green sofa, wooden center table, and beachy lounge chairs. There is also a masculine-chic element, the lamp with wood and metal tones. Besides these styles, the client’s charisma and sense of humor are also displayed in the room through the wall covered with unique prints and the eccentric rug that contrast with the rest of the color palette, including the quirky, colorful, and geometrical painting.  Even when a nook of this Miami apartment isn’t full of color or patterns, it still has unique furniture that animates the space by providing an original look and prosperous environment. Besides, as the design is mainly based in open space, every color palette flows in harmony, making the colorful visible appeal possible yet always maintaining its elegance. As you have seen, the designer can work with different styles in the same Miami apartment. However, it is on the balcony where she’s able to merge both design styles, the seacoast, and the playful one, into the same furnishings. This outdoor living furniture undoubtedly has a summer vibe. Still, it isn’t like the typical wicker beach lounge furnishings. Instead, Broderic mixed the vivid and unique client’s style with a black-and-white pattern that Nicholas also appreciated but instantly related to the beach. She achieved this by combining different colors and patterns, as you have seen throughout this article. In the office, you can again admire rare shapes, noticeable on the rug and painting, for instance. In this room, many colors spread through the space match. However, two very different shades are exhibited right next to each other. This could have been a disaster easily, but the designing team really studied every part of this Miami apartment. The two distinct colors are cold shades, and the pink color being one of the lightest shades of pink and the blue one of the darkest, creates an elegant contrast, providing the opposite of a disaster. It actually brought joy and sophistication to the area. Another example that the contrast between dark and light can evoke an extremely refined aura is this bedroom, where the black and dark blue shades exhale a luxurious, classical atmosphere. Still, the white tones twist this classical look by creating a comfortable divergence view. Other than that, the wall pattern also increases the design, transforming it into something original and stylish. What a unique design project! This Miami apartment successfully proves that merging two different interior design styles can upgrade your project and distinguish it from the more basic ones. Besides being super modish, this house’s design is also ingenious as it could express multiple design techniques while always revealing the client’s personality. Now that this Miami apartment inspires you dive deeper into this seaside vibe and explore this beach house in the Hamptons designed by Steven Harris.

Decorator Showhouse 2023 – Meet the Terrific Spanish-Style Project

Discover this recently redesigned 18th-century San Francisco decorator showhouse with Mediterranean architecture, enlivened by twenty-two design studios. Directed by Jenny Bittner Borden, the residence, built in 1927, in the Sea Cliff of San Francisco Bay, by known bank architects Hyman and Appleton, is filled with 28 exciting areas. A total of 22 design studios recreated the home’s three levels. In this article, we’ll show you all 28 zones, their respective Spanish architectural characteristics, and each responsible design firm. Front yard Accomplished by Martinelli Design, this garden exhales its characteristic Mediterranean vibe but also a glimpse of a Californian aura. Here, Russell Martinelli, the company’s owner, used scale as the key element to draw attention directly to the showhouse; he achieved this by using lifted planters, for example. One of the ways the designer employed to enhance the Mediterranean features was the decorated staircase with a textured Spanish star-and-cross pattern. Foyer Geddes Ulinskas Architects was responsible for this showhouse area. Even though this space has incredibly divine windows and a tasty staircase with an extravagant chandelier, what is genuinely glaring is the unique, gleaming golden tree made of light and hand-cut lenses. Powder Room and antechamber Thanks to Aubrey Maxwell, all the elements present in this powder room and antechamber are sophisticatedly connected. Like the mirror, the wooden materials fuse with the surrounding hazy wallpaper, extending mystic energy. Study This showhouse is inspiring, and this room wouldn’t be any different. Actually, as it is a study, it had to be even more inspiring and exhale a productive aura. Coy & Company was able to achieve this through the earthy tones chosen, contemporary shapes, the use of plants, and the ceiling details inspired by millwork from the 1800s. Living room Inspired by a European style, to be more precise, by the Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, Kimberly Denman Inc. improved the living room by adding contemporary artwork, a stimulating wallpaper, and incredibly detailed furniture, including the elegantly worked ceiling, providing a luxurious atmosphere to the showhouse. Dining Room Chroma opted to bring a surrealist style to the dining room. The gradient colors on the walls and ceiling, the colorful yet color palette-belonging artworks, the rare furnishing, and the bright rug all together create a loose aura, but of course, maintain its sophistication and originality. Kitchen One of the most desired characteristics of a kitchen design, as the esthetic part is always given a lot of significance, is its elegance. However, there are more essential elements than that. The crucial characteristic of a kitchen is its functionality. Lauren Berry Interior Design was capable of creating a kitchen with both. Despite this being one of the showhouse’s most graceful environments, it is still functional, organized, and comfortable. Salon and Sunroom Created by Malone, the salon area has quite a unique design. With its peculiar walnut shelves over the window and the flashy granite bar, this design evokes a great sense of balance between old and new. The sunroom, designed by Dina Bandman Interiors, is characterized by its subtle details spread in every corner; for instance, the hand-painted geometric floor, floral wallpaper, and white plaster palm chandelier form a refined layout. Family Room To transform this showhouse zone, which was initially a hallway, into a functional, familiar room, DLC-ID worked with a serene color scheme to increase the natural light in the area, eventually creating the illusion of a more expansive space. Beyond that, the designer made this room highly cozy and homely, perfect for a family retreat. Primary bedroom, closet and bathroom This suite is the room of a design where quiet and extravagant merge, and the perfect example that opposites attract. Tineke Triggs balanced bright and dark colors and produced a lavish complete suite, focusing on highlighting the energy induced by gemstones, principally in the main bedroom. Guest Bedroom Stimulating the nostalgia that the owner of Miyuki Yamaguchi Design Studio felt when she saw this wisteria wallpaper that reminded her of spring when she was a young adult, she provided a fresh, soft look by joining the furnishing with neutral colors. Kid’s bedroom and bathroom suite Inspired by the Memphis style, EJ Interior Design transformed this showhouse section into a super playful and creative environment. And even though it is full of patterns and bold colors, these elements don’t weigh the room down; actually, the spaces look ample and safe. Second kid’s bedroom and bathroom suite Defining the butterfly wallpaper as a starting point, Chantal Lamberto reformed this suite into a whimsical kid’s bedroom centered on nature. The designer fulfilled a feeling of naivety and warmth while maintaining a charming design that is perfect for a kid’s room. Guest bedroom and bathroom Intending to originate a relaxing feeling, Marsh & Clark Design filled this showhouse zone with diverse smartly-though furnishings that could evoke that tranquility. For example, there’s the bird form lighting, the walls in the bedroom and bathroom that invoke an idea of movement, and the delicate tilted headboard that curls all over the bed and side table, like it’s wrapping you with comfort. Media Room The remarkably unique and creative design in the media room was mastered by Noz Design, where constellations are represented; for example, the Big Dipper is present in the ceiling through golden lamps representing the main stars. This designer accomplished in perfection the sensation of making anyone feel amazed and like they are in their own reality, but at the same time feel loosened. Playroom If there’s a space in this showhouse that feels like a fairytale is definitely this one. This children’s playroom, made by Shelley & Company Interior Design, thanks to the realistic wooden stools, sculptural trees, and vivid color arrangement, surely make anyone feel like they’re in a different, magical world. Perfect for boosting children’s imagination, this room is also multifunctional and extremely fun for kids to play in. Office Contrary to what many people may think, the office is more than just a place where you sit at your desk and write on your computer. This space occupies multiple roles, most of them still include work, but still in a way that demands a little bit of diversity. Recognizing that …

Steven Harris Project – Exploring the Greatest Hamptons Beach House

Transformed by Steven Harris and Lucien Rees Roberts, this oceanfront spirited architecture in New York embraces luxurious art and creativity. The successful architect founded his architecture studio in 1985 and titled it his name, Steven Harris Architects, an award-winning design firm. Each project the company handles has its distinct personality and aesthetic since the design approach is carefully suited to the client’s program, context, and location. In this case, the designers went with a sophisticated but also fun aura and a functional, comfortable design, perfect for the big client’s family and social lifestyle. As the design corporation responsible for this project always considers the location of the house they’re working on, this seaside property embodies its coastal panorama. Located on the extremity of Long Island, New York, this modernist beach house is nestled in a small, quiet town, Bridgehampton. The residence, settled above grassy dunes, is covered in pristine glass and characteristics that display the precise geometries of a modernist design. Even though the outside of the house has more of a strict look, the interior, thanks to its light and seductive forms, exhales an airy and familiar atmosphere, yet, never degrading its elegance. Beyond this flow of forms and shapes, what really transformed this house was the artistic furnishings and collections. As Steven Harris intended to create a memorable artful project with a welcoming vibe to everyone that would enjoy the house- this includes the rest of the family and the children’s friends- he opted to use these art objects that the homeowners were so interested in and inspired by to twist the mainly serene habitation into a fun place with colorful artistic details. Everything present in this house flows in harmony. It has furnishings with creative shapes, as well as with just clean lines. However, the color palette, the art, and even the texture of the rugs are all perfectly balanced, making what could be considered a bold statement piece look like a contemporary ornament that was perfectly made for the room it is in. This was exactly what Steven Harris and Lucien intended to achieve. They desired to fill the spaces with a cozy balance that could host a large crowd and still feel homely when the family is there alone. The room that can perfectly represent the intelligent use of color and art in this project is undoubtedly the media room. Summer Wheat, the New York artist that assisted in the transformation of this area, was efficiently able to use a bunch of bold hues in just one room and still made it feel rich and intimate. Due to the darker colors on the walls, sofa, and rug, the designers created a perfectly balanced design with the help of Wheat statement work and bold patterns. Another factor that is characteristic of this house structure and helped accomplish this was the windows, which prevented the space from getting too dark. Once again, the seaside view is highlighted. The large windows, neutral colors, and the use of wooden furnishings definitely emphasize the oceanic vista. It’s also possible to spot the pool pavilion and, eventually, its sculptural roof. This boomerang-shaped pool works as a bond connecting the ocean closer to the house, like the pool was a reflecting pond that acted as a prelude to a large sea view. According to Steven Harris, your eyes skip from the pool to the sea, so it visually collapses the space in between. Underneath mostly of these house areas, there’s a third level partly hidden in the landscape that assists in elevating the living spaces above. Inside this compartment, Steven Harris and the design team decided to install a basketball court and a gym, with a glass wall that gives access to a hidden yard load with Japanese holly hedges. As you have seen, this house is overall geometric. Although, the owners wanted the outside landscape to appear gentle. For this reason, the property’s grounds are a mingle of a polished and fierce garden. Despite that, this home is also an artful project, and the outdoors is no exception. The outside area is full of stimulating design details. An abstract grayish mural covers all floor and walls close to the front door. It starts on the exterior and continues down the entrance hall, finishing by the pool. Apart from the design of this Steven Harris’s project being relaxing, fluid, and familiar, he also tried to associate his design with more meaningful things, like the sunset, for example, that he represented in one of the house’s powder rooms through a beautiful orange patterned stone. Since we are diving into the bathroom’s design, it’s essential to enhance that this area of the house is often underrated. However, Steven Harris took this as a chance to elevate his design even more, expressing incredible designs in every bathroom. He and his team created a creative design while also representing a modernist contemporary style, boosting serenity. What a fantastic tour! Now that you have seen this Steven Harris design project get even more inspired for your project by discovering the best tips to use geometric rugs and elevate your project with bold forms, such as this design perfectly did,.

Interior designer Alison Rose designed this incredible and elegant Modern style home in Sag Harbor for a young family. Rose’s client desired a fun, stylish, and approachable home that reflects brightness and has a good vibe. The house was intended to be the perfect second home for their family. The color scheme of this Modern style house seamlessly transitions between earthy desert tones and bold pop art accents, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for families. Let’s explore this stunning Modern style home! Rose creates a stunning home with a unique geometric feel. The interior designer incorporated furniture that qualified as art objects and exaggeratedly filled the space, resulting in a home that exudes curiosity and elegance. Inspired by the MET and the American Museum of Natural History visits, Rose makes a perfect Memphis and Modern home. The living room has eye-catching pieces that add elegance and style. The custom sofa is double-sided and covered in outdoor fabric. It is placed on a trapezoidal lavender rug with carefully arranged angles to enhance the room’s beauty. An oak-panel nook adds warmth to the space, while a selection of tables creates an eclectic feel. The fireplace is stunning, featuring a patchwork design made from Cipollino marble, Rojo al Andalus marble, and Silver Grey granite. The sea green family room, where more about Neptunian novelty can be found, features a custom wraparound sofa and a festoon motif on the custom rug, which reminded the designer of a handlebar mutache. The room has multiple cabinets that cleverly hide games and toys. It’s a fun and attractive family room. The standout feature in this room is the pink floor lamp, resembling the sea creature Rose imagined for the space. The Modern home features stunning geometric and colorful decor, particularly in the central kitchen area. While the earth tones in the kitchen complement the bright blue dining chairs, they also help to balance out their vibrancy. The kitchen’s standout feature is the stunning Fern ceiling light, crafted by Jason Miller, which adds a graceful arc to the overall aesthetic. The kitchen boasts a modern style with the Fernanda Pompermayer vase, which resembles a golden treasure discovered on a pirate ship. Rose’s client is a gut-health specialist and Ayurvedic nutritionist who grew up in Miami. The Miami vibes in this home are very present, with the colorful elements and the sea-inspired details. Everything in this Modern style home has a place, and the “Control room,” called by Rose’s client Mara is an incredible space. In this room, glass-fronted cabinets showcase a vibrant collection of tableware. With its eye-catching, the elegant marble countertop and backsplash add an energetic touch to the well-ordered display. The Arc counter stool, upholstered in Knoll Brigadoon vinyl, brings a touch of sophistication to the overall aesthetic. The Media room is another fantastic and vibrant living space. The room boasts purple haze walls with burnished-lime paint that matches the amusing artwork displayed on the walls. This room leaves a lasting impression with its alluring textures and vibrant colors. A solid red rug, a captivatingly textured canvas by Tim Nikiforuk, and a painting by Emi Winter all create a fun and cheerful atmosphere in the room. The main bedroom of this Modern style home features stunning earth tones, with Rose’s custom bed created of lush bronze velvet and the walls finished with terracotta plaster. The bedroom is an homage to the client’s family vacation in Arizona, with a chevron-shaped desk and a large pendant lamp made of woven willow vine, creating a tranquil and vibrant atmosphere. The main bathroom of this home offers a unique contrast to the terracotta walls of the bedroom. It features Bianco Dolomiti marble slabs and a horned chair by Francesco Decio, which adds another element of creativity to the Modern style design. The room belonging to the daughter has a fun and stylish aesthetic. The children’s bedroom showcases a purple platform bed, a pair of tasseled pillows, a beautiful purple rug, and a sunset-hued wall color. The bedroom’s color palette is reminiscent of the love story between the parents. The philosophy of living with color extends to the exterior design, where a collection of Patricia Urquiola chairs brings an elegant, wonderland vibe to the garden. The pool house bathroom is adorned with an Alma-painted aluminum wall sconce in a beautiful shade of lime green, which perfectly complements the garden’s aesthetic. Combine Modern and Memphis Style This Modern style home blends modern furniture with a Memphis style seamlessly. From the furnishings to the rugs, this home is an inspired look for those who want to elevate their living space designs. Inside the Memorable Stockholm Contemporary House by AO/JN Interiors

Discover this originally 1920s apartment transformed into a contemporary house with a timeless design Located in Stockholm, Sweden, there’s a house nestled in a heritage city-center neighborhood designed by Alexandra Ogonowski and Jesper Nyborg. Together, they formed AO/JN Interiors and were able to twist the originally classic design with the historical features of this apartment into a luxurious contemporary house. This building has as a foundation timeless design and architecture. This timeless style refers to various factors: historical context, functionality, relevance over time, and structures that display continuous aesthetic charisma. This type of design is often based on the ideology of simplicity, minimalism, and adaptability, upstaging trends and fashions. In this article, we’ll explore these characteristics and associate them with this contemporary house. Color Palette One of the premier elements in any interior design project is the color, principally in a contemporary style. Medium wood tones and light and neutral walls are some of the elements that contribute the most to this beige palette. Bolder colors are only used in decor items and more miniature furniture for a comfortable, prominent look and to add a luxurious contrast. In this contemporary house, this is visible in the gold details spread around the home, for example. Open Space and Lighting Another factor that can be highly beneficial for a radiant and bright color scheme is large windows and open space designs that allow lots of natural light to enter the room and, consequently, make the space airy. A statement chandelier or pendant lights are typical of this style. Beyond exhaling an expensive aura, these ornaments are also one of the only lighting furnishings that can cover a whole area with light. Even though color and large windows have a vital role in providing light to a house, this factor can only be expanded due to open design projects. The layout of a contemporary home is essentially an open plan, avoiding barriers and opting to delimit the spaces with furnishings, textures, and colors. Geometric Features Geometric figures have more importance in design than people know. These mathematical details stimulate our visual senses provocatively instead of in the traditional emotive way. Thereby, these characteristics are regularly picked by designers when the need to express a clean feeling comes up. These details are discreetly extended throughout the house. For instance, the geometric rugs spread around the building emit a modern yet, warm feeling. Simple shapes, crisp lines, streamlined silhouettes, and geometric shapes distinguish contemporary and timeless design. These clean forms are everywhere, in decoration, room layout, and furniture. Materials Although contemporary and modern design is different, sometimes they can be confounded. The contemporary style can be expressed in flexible looks, taking change with time and continuously adapting to new trends; in other words, as it is a timeless type of design, it is often based on materials that can be considered and look modern. The materials used the most in this contemporary house are highly characteristic of timeless design. Marble, solid wood, and wooden panels are the principal utilized. There are also metal finishes outspread in the design, providing a lavish touch to the mainly plain style. Blend of textures The key element to elevate any design project is the use and mix of rich textures. This contemporary house is the perfect example of that, where hard-material facades get mixed with sleek and soft surfaces, glass, and metal details. When the blend of these textures and materials is successful, it creates harmony and lightness. And that was exactly what happened to this smartly-designed residence. Once more, the rugs take a vital role when it comes to the balance of these diverse consistencies. These rugs, being the element with the softest material mixed with creative, opulent patterns, can connect all the textures together while still providing comfort and warmth.
