We’ll let you know everything you need to know about this project by Jeremiah Brent, in which he explores the combination of modern style and references from the past. Born in 1984 in the state of California, in Modesto, Jeremiah Brent is an interior designer famous for his television programs in the United States of America. Graduated in Interior Design at the University of San Francisco, Brent is also known for his work in this area, having worked on residential and commercial projects around the world. In 2011, he founded his own design company, Jeremiah Brent Design. As we mentioned earlier, the interior designer became famous for his television career, where he participated in several programs, including “The Rachel Zoe Project” and “Home Made Simple”. In 2014 he started with a more important project in what would be the boost of his name both in the area of interior design and in his television career, where he became co-host of the program “Nate & Jeremiah By Design” on the TLC television network, together with his business partner, Nate Berkus, as we were able to associate by the name of the program. In addition to his professional life, Brent finds himself on other fronts, such as defending LGBT rights and also in various charitable organizations, where he works actively. As for his design style, Jeremiah Brent is known for his sophisticated and elegant style, combining classic and modern elements to create magnificent and functional spaces. He believes that the interior of a room should reflect the personality and lifestyle of those who enjoy it and that each project has to be unique and special as if it were telling a story. The project Let’s now explore this unique project by Jeremiah Brent. It is located in a building from the 1920s on the Upper East Side in New York. “So beautiful and grand and has a such great soul”, these are the words the designer uses to describe this place, “Though it hadn’t been touched much for two generations, it held a lot of emotion” he adds. This Manhattan apartment was the home of a Latin American family for several decades and has been the site of several landmark meetings and celebrations. However, the Park Avenue property was clearly in need of restoration, all the more so given the condition that it had recently been handed over to a new generation. The challenge for Jeremiah Brent in this project would be to remodel this space, bringing a young and modern spirit while reconciling and adding all the value that the house conveyed with pieces and items that brought the family history to the space. As the designer says, “It couldn’t lose any of its spirit, but we had to bring in light and more contemporary elements”. Jeremiah Brent wanted to approach the space in such a way that the customs of the family and, in particular, the client’s mother was honored. Combine the old and the new As we have already understood, this project by Jeremiah Brent brings a lot of tradition and much of the family’s origins. The couple is part of a family member of a clan that wanders between the Mexican country and Nicaragua and collects art typical of the culture, art that it also produces. “When I first walked in, there were these bronze sculptures everywhere that looked like Giacomettis—but they were the work of the husband’s mother,” reports Jeremiah Brent. In the dining room, we are very aware of this pottery that has been collected for over 30 years. As promised by the designer, the sculptures were given due importance in the decoration of the apartment. Previously, these were displayed more randomly and in spaces where they took all their due protagonism. Now they are found in more visible places, as in the case on the table, which, in the opinion of Jeremiah Brent, brings the matriarch’s figurative pieces the due respect they deserve to be treated. These sculptures have different shapes, some sitting, others standing, walking, or leaning over. These make the space elegant and serene, and with the effect of the movement they manifest, they transport life to the area. Neutral? Yes! But not without emotion Regarding the play of colors, we can see Jeremiah Brent’s intention to bring serenity and tranquility to the space. A more neutral and consistent color palette, with white in the spotlight throughout the various rooms of the house, matching light fabrics and furniture items in those same soft tones, as we can see in the living room, with the white sofa and rug in line with that of the walls. However, the designer’s concern with bringing essence to these spaces is also visible, with the contrast of various elements in the area, such as, for example, using again the living room, the armchairs, or even the center table, with darker tones, in the case of the table, or with shades of brown, in the case of the chairs, which bring continuity to the color of the floor, made of dark wood. A getaway spot As Jeremiah Brent noted, clients expressed the desire to have a place in the house dedicated to more solitary moments, such as a quiet space for a moment of reading or writing a letter. The designer found a perfect space for the purpose, an area adjacent to the living room, an additional space with the ideal characteristics that Jeremiah Brent was looking for. In this way, the designer distinctly reformulated the space in relation to the rest of the house, fulfilling the client’s desire to make this space unique in the project. He painted the walls a pinkish beige, deviating from the white we see throughout the room, which brought a more enclosed feeling to the space. Chelsea Apartment We started with Chelsea Apartment, a Shawn Henderson Interior Design project located in New York. This project presents a variation of the Mid-Century style, bearing in mind the Mid-Century Modern style, a minimalist and elegant approach to the base style. This style is often associated with the use of minimalist and functional furniture, finished in natural wood or synthetic materials such as plastic, metal and glass. Regarding colors, neutral and natural colors are typically present in the environment, such as shades of white, black, gray, cream and brown. However, more vibrant color tones such as orange, yellow and red can be added through decorative accessories such as rugs and artwork. As we can see from the living room, all the features listed above are present. The one that stands out first at sight will be the neutral and natural colors, such as white and cream, that command the room in the color of the wall, ceiling and rug. We could also identify the usual presence of more vibrant colors, as we could see by the sofa, with orange, or the darker shades in the armchair and daybed. Throughout the Shawn Henderson Interior Design project, we continued to verify this presence of serene and neutral tones with the contrast of more vibrant ones. The use of wood, as is common in style in use, becomes recurrent and complements this serenity in all locations. The pursuit of elegance is also very present in the environment of this house. We were able to identify furniture elements with a vintage style that conveyed that same elegance, as we were able to detect in the suspension lamps in the bathroom, kitchen and dining room. In these three house divisions, we can still observe more details of elegance, becoming the great highlight of the environment and the great success of the space. West Village Apartment Then we left for another project by Shawn Henderson Interior Design in New York City. This apartment is located in a building designed by Herzog de Meuron, a Swiss architecture office based in Basel. This one features a distinct style from the previous one, featuring a contemporary genre at its base. This style aims to create a clean, sophisticated and harmonious environment, characterized by clean and simple lines, geometric shapes and modern materials. Contemporary spaces tend to be open, airy and bright, with plenty of natural light. Regarding the colors, they are predominantly neutral, with the presence of some touches of more vibrant colors to contrast the environment. As we stated earlier, the contemporary style is present in its entirety. A project that has the dominant white color throughout its base, in contrast, we always have decorative items that bring life and presence to this space, as we can see, for example, in the red frame found in the living room. These vibrant color contrasts are essential to bringing meaning to living space, thus avoiding the monotony of space. This project is also the perfect example to demonstrate how to work with natural light and make the most of it, bearing in mind bright and bright environments in every room of the house due to the large windows that bring in the outside light for the benefit of the interior. Another common characteristic of this style is the minimalist tendency, and as we can see, it is present in this project by Shawn Henderson Interior Design: few details and open and clean spaces. A project where, just by looking at the images, we can sense the warmth and comfort of the apartment. The distinctive shapes, unique color schemes, and artwork decorating make up this interior design project by Evan Edward. Depending on our space, the designers pick various primary colors. The bindweed near the shelves and the marble table entrance, as well as the red in the small library, are what draws our attention to the space. The color tones are expertly blended in the mirror room, and the wood fits the floor with what seems like an animal fur rug. Both the blue and the gold features of the decorating in the dining area capture the attention. Chelsea Loft The colors and ecleticism are once more distributed by Evan Edward to each room, some of which are more vivid than others. Let’s explore Austin, Texas’s artistic creation by Kendra Scott and this stunning art deco home Creation. Kendra Scott is well recognized for being the creator, executive chairperson, and chief jewelry designer of her $1 billion jewelry company. She is even a designer and the previous CEO of Kendra Scott, LLC. This incredible entrepreneur was responsible for designing her lake house in art deco style. Art Deco home style portrayed modernism as it evolved into fashion. Its products included both hand-crafted luxury items and mass-produced items, but the aim was to create a contemporary, anti-traditional elegance that suggested wealth and sophistication. This is a hint that Kendra Scott, who enjoys both art and fashion, has infused her individuality into the design of her home, which is an exact reflection of her. The style is characterized by straightforward, often “streamlined” shapes, geometric or stylized adornment derived from representational forms, and extraordinarily expensive materials, which frequently combine man-made and natural materials. One of the most recognizable features of this art deco home mansion, which can be seen in every room is the intricacy of the tall wall in the living room shown in the image above. The wall-mounted portrait gives the space a sense of sophistication, and the gold mirror frame contrasts beautifully with the frames of the portraits. The designer, Kendra Scott, decides to place three center tables in black and gold with three main brown sofas facing each other and a rug that matches the color of the sofas. The designer explained that the Venetian plaster walls’ cozy tone and suede-like texture, which are so opulent that the surfaces themselves almost sigh, could be responsible for the peaceful majesty of those most crucial regions. In this mansion’s second sitting room, the wood tone reappeared. Kendra Scott used the Nordic style that was highly popular last year to design this space in a contemporary manner. Here, there are some unusual color combinations and distinctive shapes in some of the decorations’ elements. In comparison to the other spaces, this one has considerably stronger wood tones. Their traditional style gives the house some age even if it has brand-new skin and a historical spirit. In the image above is a fresher art deco home room, as a wide window helps the natural light to enter this room making the room brighter and helps to feel lighter than the others as a result of the simple way of the decoration, The Sitting giraffe in the right corner, is one of the characteristic elements of an art deco home style. The black and white stripes chosen by Kendra Scott along with the window in this room help to give the impression that the space is larger than it actually is. There is also substantial lighting above the countertops that can illuminate the entire eating area. The art deco house design accents are present in the green cabinetry in the kitchen, as well as some of the gold decorations on the living room walls. The enormous plant and the vibrant main colors make the space fresher. The outdoors of this art deco home are outstanding too, the space near the large pool has some unique patterns which are the main elements. The black and white presence which is visible almost in all the rooms we saw before is implemented here, in the two sofas that are facing each other and the two armchairs that are backward to the pool. A vintage photograph of hostess-with-the-most-women Sophia Loren presiding over a collection of bottles heavy on Domaines Ott rosé, the owner’s favorite gift, in the wine basement, which is lined with fiery-smoked eucalyptus. Another area that Kendra Scott, the designer, greatly simplifies is in the lower right corner. An adjective that perfectly describes this art deco house space is “unique location,” which is comfortable and soothing. The fireplace in the room’s center completes the picture. According to Santini, who received funding from the late American designer Tony Duquette, known for his opulent and fascinating jewelry and interiors, “This space is all about depth and drama.” This was how this iconic library was described. We will introduce some AI artists who explore the new technologies and the new world of Midjourney AI art to create magnificent design spaces. As we all know, AI (Artificial intelligence) and all the technology around it have evolved exponentially in recent years. It is increasingly considered a trend, and evolutions like never seen before are expected. This trend is no different within the world of interior design, where AI is used for various things to improve the efficiency and accuracy of project development, making the whole process faster and more effective. In this way, we can say that AI and its evolution will shape the future of various markets worldwide. We will then present several artists who use AI to create spaces that only with this technology become possible, with the use of Midjourney AI Art. Harshdeep Arora The first artist we present here is Harshdeep Arora. Like all the others we’re going to introduce, this one uses a tool called Midjourney, an artificial intelligence service developed by Midjourney, Inc., an independent research lab based in San Francisco. Midjourney generates images from descriptions in natural language, called prompts, similar to OpenAI’s DALL-E and Stable Diffusion, for example. We see projects in which the artist gives prominence to colors, one of the factors that enhance the environment. We were also able to observe the use of geometric shapes in the spaces created, with the presence of areas with linear lines being rare. Modern spaces and extravagant pieces of furniture are also present in the room. Ben Myhre The second artist we are going to introduce is Ben Myhre. As we said, all the artists we will present here use Midjourney technology in creating these spaces. This one presents different creations from the previous one, even though it was generated by the same tool, and this shows how a tool like Midjourney AI Art can create different environments. In the first analysis, the creation of more closed spaces immediately stands out. In all of them, we see dark environments with a Gothic style around them. We know that they are spaces focused on detail, with all kinds of details taken to the extreme, as we can see in the windows, always worked in a particular way. Hajar Ali The third artist featured here is Hajar Ali, a Singaporean businesswoman, founder of Urbane Nomads, a luxury travel agency, and the website Travel Like a Humanitarian. Hajar Ali is known for being the first recorded woman to cross the Rub’ al Khali, the “Empty Quarter” of the Arabian Peninsula. Hajar was recognized in 2011 by Singapore Women’s Weekly in its annual report “Great Women of Our Time”. Hajar Ali also uses Midjourney AI Art in his design creation and exploration world. Despite one or two distinct creations, we see a pattern in the designs that Hajar Ali generates at Midjourney AI Art. In most of these we have a very present use of the landscape, with large windows giving all the protagonism of the space to the outside and to what surrounds the place, perhaps something exploited by Hajar for being such a well-traveled woman who gives so much value to the landscape of the different places and nature. Shail Patel We now move on to Shail Patel‘s creations. With Midjourney AI Art, he creates varied spaces, from housing projects to store designs, in which he works on world-renowned brands such as Apple, Versace and Lacoste. This one tries to create spaces that are bolder and more of their own, with very unique and distinct characteristics. As we can see from the images, we have very daring projects where the artist tries to create impactful spaces that do not go unnoticed. In all of them we have at least one element that deals with the area and that makes it striking and unique, making it practically impossible to see something more vulgar and within the typical pattern of Shail Patel’s creation. Stefano Casati We went this time to a London-based architect, Stefano Casati. This focuses a lot on architectural creation and its connection to nature and how both manage to coexist beneficially for both. He uses Midjourney AI Art to get inspired and create unique projects with features very different from what we are used to seeing. As we can see, this architect focuses his creations on an eccentric layout. We have extravagant environments that bring uniqueness to the work. In terms of colors, of course with some exceptions, the architect prioritizes more serene environments with the presence of calmer colors that bring harmony to the place, with lighter and more neutral colors. Daryl Anselmo We return to another artist who bets on Midjourney AI Art to explore diversity and his unique creations. Daryl Anselmo has both retail and housing projects in his portfolio. Intense colors take over some of the spaces created by the architect. Without this protagonism of color, we can verify the presence of elements and extravagant details that bring this peculiarity to the place. As we can observe, the artist uses Midjourney AI Art to create spaces that are totally dispersed from the normality of what a dwelling place is, being able to associate these spaces with environments inside a video game, something that can really be in association, taking into account says that the author specializes in video game design. Tim Fu Last, we left what is capable of being the most unique artist of all. Tim Fu is a designer with work experience in London, China, Hong Kong, Dubai and Kuwait. In this midcentury home, Jamie Bush and architect William Hefner’s unconventional design brings the unexpected. In this Home where the client says clearly to avoid the vogue trend and the “Fifty shades of beige”. She states strongly, “I didn’t want a house that looks like everyone else’s. I wasn’t looking for a hip midcentury home in the Hollywood Hills with perfectly elegant interiors.” In this Los Angeles midcentury home we will see the very different room which Jamie Bush and architect William Hefner’s put the wishes of the client and turned them into reality. This dazzling midcentury home, where an eclectic and eccentric design exists and makes each space unique and fun. This midcentury home style embraces the odd and unusual, know as eccentric design. It’s important to remember that this is not a design for the fearful, so consider decorating your home with humor and playfulness. This article’s photographs will show the numerous rooms in this unconventional style – eccentric design– applied. The eccentric design of the living room is demonstrated by the various interior pieces in the image up top. The plants that give the space a fresher feel, the pink-hued sofas and armchairs, the gold accents in some of the details, and the rug that links it all together. This midcentury home is a stunning project that was expertly constructed because to the surprising color choices and contrast that it has. The eccentric design in the 30-by-36-foot living room is decorated in pink and peach tones, while the kitchen and dining area are celadon and forest green, the main bedroom is ice blue, and the fully remodeled poolhouse is brilliant yellow. The kitchen and dining room,in this midcentury home, are two separate areas adjacent to one another, are shown in the photographs above. The diverse shades of blue combined with the other primary colors gave the space a more elegant stylish appearance. However it still feels like a cozy space to be dining in. The presence of the eccentric design is apparent in this midcentury home ‘s interiors. Each room has a distinct color scheme, and occasionally it seems neither the designer nor the client is concerned about whether certain objects’ colors complement one another. They think it’s a sign of modern taste, similar to the notion that choosing a painting because it matches a sofa’s color is somehow vulgar. So they made a distinct style choice that incorporates all the various times, shapes, and colors working together – the eccentric design. As the architecture explain when putting in to view the eccentric design along with Jamie Bush, the client didn’t really feel that satisfied with the house and its architecture, so he tried to give the house a really exceptional period of architecture. So he flattened the pitched roof, adding sharp contemporary eaves and corner windows, and covering the previously stucco exterior in white-painted reclaimed brick—the same material he used for outdoor screens, planters, and brise-soleils—as well as a few key interior walls—completely changed the character of the building. The architect explains, “It has the correct atmosphere and seems familiar, but it’s not an exact replica of one particular yet eccentric design.” The midcentury home is distinctive and has individuality due to the contrast between the white façade and the variety of colors painted and used inside. Just like a precious stone, where the value is found inside. Every unique item that decorates this space are things from far-flung periods and places. Bush adorned his various ensembles with both modest midcentury materials like Formica, linoleum, cork, and vinyl as well as old-fashioned finery like Sherle Wagner marble toilets and gilt-finished fixtures, accent walls of smoky beveled mirror, Dorothy Draper cut velvets, and bullion-fringed pool umbrellas. A carpet or rug is utilized in each of these rooms. Actually, the eccentric design of this midcentury home uses carpet or rugs to make the space appear a little warmer than it is. Robert Stephan is the head of this design firm, as you can tell from the name association. With more than ten years of experience at the head of this organization, Robert has built a solid reputation as a highly versatile designer, whose work is fully characterized and molded according to the needs of each client and project. Some Projects We will present some of the magnificent projects of Robert Stephan Interior, all located in the German country, and all of them share a characteristic style of the design studio. We will understand how they work and all the traits of these remarkable spaces and environments. Bungalow A family home project located in Munich, we present Robert Stephan Interi4or’s project dubbed Bungalow. Undoubtedly what stands out most in this project is the contemporary style that the studio has achieved. Employment of open spaces, with great use of natural light, modern lines and bold styles. Let’s explore each room of this house. Right at the entryway, we can understand the contemporary traits that Robert Stephan Interior presents in its design and style. With a combination of wood and stone, we have the used the first one in the surroundings of the base of this division, from the floor to the walls. As for lighting, we have built-in lights between the wooden slats on the wall. When viewing this first room of the house is understood as a first touch of the minimalist style in the works of Robert Stephan Interior, but this is something that we will explore further. As we move on to other areas of this project by Robert Stephan Interior, we can already see a few more traits of his design style. In the dining room and the two living rooms, we have more extravagant and daring pieces of furniture. In the example of the dining room, which is connected to the kitchen, we can see a magnificent suspension lamp that stands out for that very singularity. Also noteworthy is the dining table, once again with reference to wood. In the main living room, emphasis should be placed on the incredible sofa, which also has a minimalist look. Throughout the rest of this project by Robert Stephan Interior, this same intention on the part of the studio to create a glamorous and eye-catching space for everyone is noticeable. The minimalist characteristics are continued in the other environments, however, this minimalism is not extreme as we are used to seeing in projects of this style, the designer plays with some spaces with a more intense presence of details and putting this minimalist tendency aside, as we can see for example in the bathroom. Bachelor Pad We continue in the city of Munich, and we are going to another project called Bachelor Pad, where the style that we found in the last one is extended, a contemporary style. However, this one with some differences, as we will present below. We also see the continuation of the use of open spaces, as we can see in the main living room, an ample space that connects both the kitchen and the dining room. A great highlight is the suspended salamander in this space, facing the social area of both brown sofas. We observe the continued use of wood, following the brown color that dominates the environment. So we have a place where Robert Stephan Interior was concerned with making the space pleasant and conducive to good moments of conviviality. In this project by Robert Stephan Interior we have a different intention from the previous one presented. We have a desire for darker and more closed environments in different rooms of the house. As we have seen, in the main living room we had a clean and airy space, however, in divisions such as the kitchen and the bedroom, we already have more closed environments. We see the presence of the black color both in the choice for painting the walls and also in some furniture elements, such as the countertop and mirror in the kitchen, as well as the bedside table in the bedroom. Regardless of all the characteristics explored by Robert Stephan Interior, the studio always wants to create a space of glamor and luxury. We have presented traces of refinement explored in items of details of the room’s decoration. Bold and extravagant pieces stand out in the details of each division and bring the life that each area needs, bringing the unique characteristic to which Robert Stephan Interior is committed. Villa Finally, let’s go to a project by Robert Stephan Interior, which is no longer located in the Bavarian capital. We traveled to Stuttgart to see the Villa project, a project that more vividly evokes the style of Robert Stephan Interior and all the characteristics that it conveys. A beautiful and majestic project where luxury and splendor are more present than ever. The use of light is nothing new in Robert Stephan Interior’s projects, as we saw in the previously presented projects. However, in this one, the charge for this use has a different expression, taking into account that it is possibly the main characteristic of this project. Throughout the house, the walls are entirely occupied by giant windows, which bring these same open and bright spaces. It still manages to convey a feeling of grandeur to this house, taking into account that all this open space manages to make the house overcome the standard barriers of a place, that are the walls. The 2,800-square-foot Greenwich Village loft was genially transformed into a colorful and theatrical design By Bradford Shellhammer. Newyorker based eBay executive redecorated his $ 5 million Residence with his signature design, with bright and vibrant colors. Shellhammer and his husband, Georgi Balinov, spent one year and a half renovating the house, which was once a method acting school owned by the great theater actor Lee Strasburg. The designer is most comfortable in the field of reinvention. This magnificent Project by Bradford Shellhammer is a little smaller than his other one, but it still perfectly captures the essence of the great artist who resides within those walls. The layout of every single detail reflects the designer’s character. The impact of color and how it affects the ambiance of the flat can be felt in this Manhattan loft. Shellhammer’s signature designs have been vibrant, and not everyone can create a layout in which the designer determines the vivid and distinctive hue. Inside this Project, he chooses lighter colors, which are thought to be airy and give the impression that the space is more significant and brighter. The presence of Yves Klein’s deep blue can be seen in this living room’s roller blinds, armchair, bench, and even the sofa pillows. A Portrait of the art line of paintings by artist Luis Urribarri completes the composition. Shellhammer chose a dark lead color present in the sofa and the large gray rug which connects all the items on top of it. But it is important the combination of the other color because grey hues can give your living area a lifeless, uninspired feel. So, it’s crucial to build layers of various hues on top of one another. The wall art reveals a diverse and welcoming curator around pieces by Andy Warhol, Shellhammer’s hero, Keith Haring, Josef Albers, Milton Glaser, Yoko Ono, and framed pieces of homosexual cultural memorabilia, a Rwandan imaging panel, and an unsigned artwork rescued from the streets of Brooklyn. As Shellhammer explains, “My biggest influence is Andy Warhol, without a doubt,” he explains. “For me, he represents the idea that life is not black-and-white.… He straddled high and low, art and commerce (…).” Combinations of Yves Klein blue and yellow appear calm, cozy, and well-balanced, as in this Shellhammer dazzling project. Blue is adaptable and ideal for contemporary interior design throughout the year. Blue and yellow color schemes become warmer when yellow hues are added, providing a cheerful mood. Shellhammer successfully manipulates the various patterns that coexist in the same area—a particular project for selecting a design where each section reveals its individuality. The area where meals are prepared and consumed is shown in the photographs above. Shellhammer aims to integrate the space with the colors by giving it a cozier and elegant appearance. The kitchen’s furnishings are colored in a way that contrasts with the floor’s black and white tiles. White, black, and yellow are the predominant hues in the kitchen where the island is located. Also, Shellhammer chose the yellow in the flowers and the lights above the kitchen island, giving the area a fresh appearance. The dining area, which shares space with the kitchen, is distinguished by choice of the yellow table end chairs’ various hues and shapes, the black suspended lighting by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, and the table and other side chairs’ brilliant wood tones. The white oasis, known as a bedroom, combines the leading color with the wood’s bright colors and the cactus vivid green, keeping a calming and comforting atmosphere in the room. Over the headboard is a piece of protest art by graphic designer James Victore. Shellhammer quotes the designer as saying it compromises Balinov’s more traditional tastes. Shellhammer positioned an eco-friendly and organic rug beneath the bed that reflects the space’s focal point. Provides the space with a quiet, fading feel. These colors provide the impression that a space is bigger and lighter. Shellhammer’s love of collecting extends to his home office, where a tall glass bookcase filled with toys from past trips serves as both a videoconference backdrop and a toy storage area. “Every time I visit a new nation, I find a toy, and every time I fly with a new airline, I buy an airplane. It took more than 30 years to compile this collection. It’s lovely to have them all here now after many years in storage. Claims the designer, Shellhammer.
