We spend a lot of time in the office, so we must work in a comfortable and cozy environment. Rugs become the focal point of the entire space and help us maintain focus and motivation for another day of work. They also add warmth, color, and personality to the office, creating a more welcoming atmosphere that encourages creativity, productivity, and a sense of calm, essential for a positive work environment. Choosing the perfect rug for the office is essential to bring harmony to the entire environment, whether in shape, color, or material. So join us and look at these office interiors to inspire and transform your workspace. LET’S GET TO WORK! Perfect Rug= Perfect Office Amy Kalikow It always feels good to work in a healthy and comfortable environment where we can feel at home and motivated. That’s why it’s essential to have design elements that contribute to the well-being we need. The choice of rugs should be in harmony with the rest of the furniture while also playing a significant role in refreshing the office space. When we think about office interiors, we often focus on choosing the perfect desk and chair for spending hours in front of the computer. However, we overlook other essential elements like rugs that add warmth, texture, and personality to the space, transforming what might otherwise be a dull and uninspiring environment. A well-chosen rug can help define the work area, create a cozy atmosphere, and enhance overall comfort, making your office more inviting and productive. Creating An Office With Geometric Rugs To enhance your office interiors, choosing rugs with light colors and unconventional shapes is essential to make the space stand out as soon as you enter. Incorporating geometric patterns into the rug design further enhances this effect, bringing a modern and playful vibe to the environment. These patterns can add depth and dimension to the space, making it more visually exciting and less monotonous. Beyond the aesthetic aspect described here, rugs are a great way to reduce unwanted noise and help with the echo characteristic when working in an office with more people, which can distract you from producing quality work. Another important aspect is that rugs warm up the spaces and provide excellent insulation and circulation in offices, which helps to prevent other health complications. Interior Design Office Interiors With Pattern Rugs Something to highlight is the size of the office we choose to decorate. If it’s too small, the space will feel incomplete and empty, but if it’s too large, it will distract from the other elements in the office, making your office interiors heavier. To be perfect, it needs to have the ideal size to accommodate your desk, chairs, and other pieces of furniture, leaving an apparent floor space (approximately 40 cm). Rugs are an excellent option for dividing multiple environments within the same space. Open-space offices tend to become chaotic, so rugs can be a fantastic alternative for separating rest zones, workspaces, and dining areas. This helps maintain a sense of order and adds warmth and texture to each section, creating distinct atmospheres without physical walls. Rugs can be an affordable and flexible solution to improve functionality and comfort in any office or shared living space. Design Republic  Patterns, shapes, and colors offer various options when choosing the perfect rug, and of course, it will depend on the vibe and personality you want to bring to your office. Whether you prefer bold designs or subtle textures, the right rug can enhance the aesthetic while reflecting your unique style. It’s an opportunity to personalize the space, making it more inviting and inspiring for work and relaxation. What do you think of these tips for office interiors? It’s time to roll up your sleeves and refresh your workspace, giving it more personality. Get inspired by these office interiors and bring your office to life! 5 Interior Design Ideas to Elevate Your Space and Beat Boredom

Transform your space with 5 creative interior design ideas that use color, texture, and unique touches to elevate your home and beat boredom. Creating a home that reflects your personality and style while feeling vibrant and engaging can be a challenge. The last thing you want is a space that feels dull or uninspired. Fortunately, with the right interior design ideas, you can bring life and energy into any room. In this guide, we’ll explore 5 creative and inspiring interior design ideas that focus on using rugs, textures, color, and unique touches to avoid boring interiors and elevate your home decor. 1. Elevate Your Space with Layers: Textures and Materials for Depth If your room feels flat, one of the most impactful interior design ideas is to introduce layers of textures and materials. This technique adds depth and richness, making your space more dynamic and inviting. Rugs: Rugs are a fantastic way to add texture to a room. Opt for rugs with interesting textures like wool, jute, or a blend of materials to bring a tactile experience to your floors. A plush wool rug can add a sense of luxury, while a natural jute rug brings an earthy, organic vibe. For added dimension, try layering rugs — place a smaller, patterned rug on top of a larger, neutral one. This not only creates visual interest but also helps define different areas within a room. Furniture & Accessories: Don’t stop with the rugs. Mix different materials throughout your space, like pairing a velvet sofa with a sleek glass coffee table or combining wooden elements with metallic accents. The contrast between different textures and finishes keeps the room visually engaging and prevents it from feeling one-dimensional. 2. Infuse Energy with Color Color has the power to completely change the mood of a room. If you want to avoid a dull interior, one of the best interior design ideas is to play with color in bold and thoughtful ways. Rugs: Rugs are a perfect starting point for adding color to your room. A vibrant rug can become the centerpiece that enlivens the entire space. Think deep, saturated colors like emerald green, royal blue, or warm terracotta. These hues add warmth and vibrancy without overwhelming the room. For an even bolder approach, choose rugs with multiple colors or striking patterns that create a lively contrast with your furniture. Walls & Accessories: Go beyond the rug and explore the possibilities of colorful walls or accessories. An accent wall in a bold hue can serve as a striking backdrop for your rug and furniture, while colorful pillows, throws, and artwork can tie the room together and create a cohesive look. 3. Add Movement and Personality with Patterns: Interior Design Ideas that Make a Statement Patterns and prints are essential tools for creating dynamic interiors. They add movement, personality, and a sense of fun, ensuring your space never feels boring. Rugs: A patterned rug can become the statement piece of your room. Whether you choose a geometric design, abstract shapes, or intricate motifs, a rug with a bold pattern instantly elevates your space. If you’re mixing patterns, balance a bold rug with solid-colored furniture or simpler patterns in your curtains or cushions. This approach ensures a cohesive look without overwhelming the room. Fabrics & Wallpaper: Patterns don’t have to be limited to rugs. Consider incorporating prints into your upholstery, curtains, or even wallpaper. For example, a striped rug can be paired with floral pillows or a geometric-patterned throw. The key is to find a balance that allows each pattern to stand out without clashing. 4. Make It Personal: Unique Interior Design Ideas for a Home That Tells Your Story One of the most effective interior design ideas for avoiding a boring home is to incorporate unique and personal elements. These touches add character and ensure that your space feels like a true reflection of you. Rugs: Choose a rug that resonates with your personal style and tells a story. A unique rug can become a conversation starter and add a layer of meaning to your space. For example, a handwoven rug with intricate patterns can bring a sense of history and craftsmanship to a modern room, creating a beautiful contrast. Art & Decor: Personal items like artwork, family heirlooms, or travel souvenirs infuse your space with personality. These pieces add layers of individuality to your decor, making it feel curated and far from generic. By mixing old and new, personal and found, you can keep your home feeling fresh and unique. 5. Bring the Outdoors In: Natural Interior Design Ideas for a Fresh, Inviting Home Incorporating natural elements into your interior design can soften the space and add a sense of tranquility. Nature-inspired decor brings a breath of fresh air into your home, making it feel more dynamic and less sterile. Rugs: Natural fiber rugs, such as sisal, seagrass, or jute, are a great way to introduce an earthy, organic element into your space. These materials add texture and warmth while maintaining a neutral palette that can easily complement various design styles. Whether your home leans modern, rustic, or bohemian, a natural fiber rug can be the perfect finishing touch. Plants & Greenery: Adding plants to your space is a simple yet impactful way to bring nature indoors. Choose a variety of plants, from tall statement trees to smaller potted succulents, and place them strategically around the room. Greenery contrasts beautifully with your rugs and furniture, creating a balanced, refreshing atmosphere that feels alive and inviting. Awaken Your Interiors: Infuse Life and Style into Your Space With these 5 inspiring interior design ideas, you can transform your home from boring to beautiful. Rugs play a central role in this transformation, offering a foundation for texture, color, and pattern while also helping to define spaces and introduce natural elements. Whether you’re layering textures, playing with bold colors, or incorporating unique personal touches, these strategies will ensure your home feels vibrant, engaging, and truly reflective of your style. …

Luxury Beach Apartments- La Joya in Miami Beach

The summer is ending, but that doesn’t mean we stop appreciating the beauty of luxury beach apartments worldwide, and this apartment in Miami Beach is no exception. This gem in the heart of Miami Beach was created by designer Joe Nahem, who transformed this apartment into an authentic art gallery with an ocean view. With 4,000 square feet of space, Joe Nahem had plenty of room to let his creativity flourish, drawing inspiration from the beachside beauty of Miami. The owners of this beach apartment, Luigi Caiola, and Sean McGill, sought to renovate it to make their three children feel comfortable and at home. Additionally, the apartment needed to be sophisticated and functional, ensuring it could quickly adapt to the needs of a large family. We invite you to read this article to learn more about this luxurious apartment and get inspired to transform your spaces into more fun yet sophisticated environments. So, join me on this journey through luxury beach apartments and immerse me in this sea of iconic design! The apartment has a funky, eclectic vibe, vibrant colors, and unique pieces. One key feature is the tunnels, which are coated in a sleek resin finish and adorned with playful polka dot patterns. These dots extend onto the floor, creating a whimsical continuity that ties the space together. The overall effect is a lively and dynamic atmosphere where every detail contributes to the apartment’s distinct character. The 180-degree window adds depth to the room and offers a breathtaking view of Miami’s most sought-after beaches. The designer aimed to create an inviting and fun space for the whole family while enhancing well-being with a privileged view of the sea. This sentiment conveys that the beach view significantly influenced the designer to develop a space that combines playful elements with luxurious and elegant features. When we think of beach apartments, we often imagine minimalist decor with subtle coastal elements. However, this apartment redefines the concept of Luxury Beach Apartments by blending opulence with bold design choices, transforming traditional seaside living into a stylish, sophisticated experience. Another important aspect is that the designer has known the owners for many years, which allows for a favorable understanding of their personalities and tastes. All the furniture was carefully selected, with the participation of several artisans skilled in craftsmanship. Among the many contributors to this project, we can highlight the “Cocoon” armchair by Louis Vuitton, designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana, the sofa created by Italian designer Francesco Binfaré, and the Woven Wool Rug by Dana Barnes Studio. Nahem’s conversation with Vanessa Barragão, a renowned Portuguese textile artist, was an intriguing aspect of the design process. Barragão’s innovative approach to textiles is evident in her work, and her contribution to the project was particularly noteworthy. She crafted the exquisite rug and the stunning headboard featured in the main suite. A main suite stimulates our gaze and gives us a new sensation. The choice of textures, colors, and curves creates harmony in this space. The white and brown tones add a touch of elegance to the room, while the decorative elements complement its curves and varied textures. This boldness in selecting these elements redefines our concept of luxury beach apartments and shows how we can play with unconventional materials. While this bold design approach may not be the norm in luxury beach apartments, This project’s Creativity can drive positive change. Make sure to choose items that connect with your style and elevate the space to new heights of sophistication. By embracing Creativity and giving our imagination free rein, we can craft a living environment that is both unique and comfortable. Thoughtfully chosen furniture, innovative lighting, and carefully curated decor can turn a mundane beach apartment into a striking, one-of-a-kind sanctuary that stands out from the crowd. 3 Fall Trends 2024: The Essential Rug Styles to Warm Up Your Home

Explore Fall Trends 2024: Cozy up your home with earthy tones, rich textures, and bold rug patterns for a stylish and inviting space. As the air turns crisp and the days grow shorter, it’s time to turn your home into a cozy haven. Rugs play a crucial role in shaping your space, grounding your decor, and adding layers of comfort and style. Fall trends for 2024 are all about earthy tones, rich textures, and bold patterns that invite warmth and personality into every room. Whether you’re refreshing your living room or revamping a bedroom, this season’s rug trends will inspire you to create a space that’s both stylish and inviting. Let’s dive into the must-have fall trends that will define your home this season. 1. Embrace Nature’s Hues: Earthy and Warm Color Palettes This fall, the desire for warmth and comfort extends beyond just our wardrobes — it reaches deep into our homes. Rugs in earthy and warm tones are at the forefront of the fall trends for 2024, setting the mood and grounding your space in nature’s beauty. Muted Earth Tones: The Heart of Fall Trends Think of rich browns, deep forest greens, warm terracottas, and soft ochres. These colors evoke the changing leaves, the warmth of a crackling fire, and the cozy embrace of nature. Earth tones are inherently calming, making them perfect for creating a serene and inviting environment in your home. A rug in these tones can easily become the foundation of your design, offering a versatile backdrop for your furniture and accessories. Picture a deep, olive-green rug anchoring your living room, paired with a leather sofa and natural wood accents. Or imagine a warm terracotta rug in your bedroom, providing a cozy base for neutral bedding and textured throws. These colors aren’t just trendy — they’re timeless, allowing you to enjoy their beauty far beyond this fall season. Soft Neutrals: Timeless Elegance in Fall Trends If bold earthy tones aren’t quite your style, soft neutrals are still very much in vogue. Shades of beige, cream, and gray continue to dominate the rug scene, offering subtle elegance that complements any decor style. These neutral rugs are the perfect canvas for layering different textures and patterns, allowing you to switch up your accessories as trends evolve without needing to change the rug itself. A soft, neutral rug can make a room feel larger and more open while adding a sophisticated touch. Opt for a light gray or creamy beige rug in a minimalist design for a modern, airy feel. Pair it with monochrome decor, or mix in metallic accents for a touch of glamour. The beauty of neutral rugs lies in their versatility — they truly go with everything, making them a staple in fall trends for 2024. 2. Get Cozy with Texture: Embrace Tactile Rugs This fall, texture is everything. The tactile feel of a rug not only adds visual appeal but also creates a sensory experience that’s perfect for the colder months. Among the leading fall trends for 2024, textured rugs take center stage, offering warmth and comfort in every step. Shag and Plush Piles: The Ultimate in Cozy Fall Trends One of the biggest rug trends this season is the resurgence of shag and plush pile rugs. These high-pile rugs, reminiscent of the 70s, have made a comeback with a modern twist. Today’s shag rugs are softer, more luxurious, and come in a variety of styles — from understated neutrals to bold, statement-making designs. Imagine walking into a room and sinking your feet into a plush, high-pile rug after a long day. The softness envelops you, offering a sense of relaxation and comfort. Shag rugs are perfect for cozying up a living room or adding a touch of luxury to a bedroom. Pair them with sleek, modern furniture to create a balanced look that’s both inviting and chic. Layered Looks: Mix and Match Fall Trends Layering rugs is a trend that continues to gain traction, and for good reason. It allows you to mix and match different textures, patterns, and colors, creating a unique look that adds depth and interest to your space. This season’s fall trends encourage creativity with layered rugs — start with a large, neutral base rug, then layer a smaller, patterned rug on top. For example, layer a flatweave rug with a plush sheepskin or a bold geometric design. The contrast in textures creates a dynamic look that’s visually interesting and incredibly cozy. Layering rugs also gives you the flexibility to switch things up seasonally or whenever you feel like refreshing your space. 3. Make a Statement: Bold Geometric and Abstract Patterns If you’re looking to make a statement with your decor, fall trends for 2024 point to rugs with bold geometric and abstract patterns. These designs are all about adding personality and a contemporary edge to your space. Bold Geometrics: Structured Elegance in Fall Trends Geometric patterns have been trending for a few seasons now, and they’re not going anywhere in Fall 2024. From large-scale diamonds to intricate zigzags and grids, these patterns bring structure and a modern vibe to any room. A rug with a bold geometric pattern can become the focal point of your space. Choose a design in contrasting colors — such as black and white, or navy and beige — for maximum impact. These rugs work particularly well in minimalist spaces, where they can add a pop of interest without overwhelming the decor. Geometric rugs also pair beautifully with mid-century modern furniture, enhancing the clean lines and sleek silhouettes of the era. Abstract Designs: Artistic Fall Trends For those who prefer a more artistic approach, abstract rugs are a fantastic option. These rugs often feature painterly designs that blend multiple colors and shapes, creating a one-of-a-kind piece that feels more like art than a traditional rug. Abstract rugs are perfect for adding a contemporary twist to your space. They can be bold and vibrant, with splashes of color that energize a room, or more …

A New Vision for a Family Home: Tribeca Loft Makeover

A luxurious reimagining of a Tribeca family home blends contemporary design with its historic industrial roots. Family home environments change and grow with them. It was time for a couple with two little children to rethink their Tribeca apartment after years of occupancy. They made an effort to strike a balance between creating a modern, opulent home and respecting the building’s industrial history. They hired Drake Anderson’s design skills to help them realize this idea, and he expertly turned their area into a chic retreat that blends modern and historical elements. Honoring the Past: A Nod to Industrial Roots When the building was first built in 1913, it was used as a warehouse. This rich industrial history offered the ideal backdrop for a modern reinterpretation. Drake Anderson‘s architectural style blends contemporary elegance with a subtle homage to the building’s history. The trip through this reinvented family home starts in the foyer, where the metamorphosis begins. The foyer, which is a large hallway filled with furnishings that combine the priceless and the basic, makes a dramatic first impression upon entering the home. Setting the scene with sconces sprouting stone balls and a simple circular mirror, it alluded to the themes that would emerge in the rooms beyond. This well-considered arrangement of materials and shapes sets the tone for the rest of the family home and evokes curiosity right away. An Open, Flowing Space: Kitchen, Dining, and Living Rooms The open layout of the kitchen, dining area, and living room is the focal point of this family home. These interconnecting areas, brought together by pale limed oak floors, are intended to be both aesthetically pleasing and utilitarian. Each of the several windows is framed by sheer curtains, which let in an abundance of natural light while keeping the spaces feeling spacious and airy. A large bespoke sofa in the living area with a sweeping form encourages lounging and chatting. Vibrant touches of cobalt enliven the room’s primary stone and concrete color scheme. The room is infused with color and character by a painterly handcrafted rug, a set of classic Italian chairs, and sateen throw cushions. A classy yet welcoming ambiance is created by this combination of textures and colors, making it ideal for entertaining guests and hosting family get-togethers. A Modernist Delight: The Kitchen With its inspiration from early twentieth-century constructivist art, the family home kitchen is a magnificent example of modernist design. Ebonized pulls cleverly organized in a seemingly random but consciously cubist pattern adorn the low sheen lacquered cabinets. The addition of this artistic touch gives the kitchen a distinctive visual feature that transforms it from a place for cooking into a creative canvas. The enormous island that is covered with strikingly veined marble is the focal point of the kitchen’s design. This eye-catching element functions as a workstation as well as a focal point. An element of industrial style is added by the polished nickel hammered surround surrounding the range hood over the island. Fun cylinder stools with colorful cowhide coverings come up to the counter, providing a fun yet elegant seating alternative. Serene and Energized: The Main Bedroom The main bedroom is intended to be a calm haven where you may unwind and regenerate. While the room is filled with energy from dramatic design decisions, the pale platinum color scheme radiates serenity and tranquillity. Rich purple upholstery on the headboard wall and bed creates a striking focal point that contrasts well with the room’s softer hues. A dressing table made of shagreen and iron offers a touch of luxury, and the room’s rich textural palette is enhanced with sculpted carpets and unique glass panels. Beside the bed, bespoke lacquered cabinets offer streamlined and fashionable storage options. A bedroom that is visually captivating and relaxing is created by combining dramatic and tranquil features. Looking Forward: Expanding the Family Home These days, the family home changes and grows along with them. The existing apartment and the unit next door are being combined by Drake Anderson, who is working on an intriguing new project. This family, that loves design and is active, will have more room thanks to this magnificent extension into the city. The upcoming stage of the transition is expected to present additional chances for imaginative design and practical living. The family home will have more square footage and the ability to further customize their living area by combining two units into one. The enlarged house will surely maintain its industrial heritage while embracing modern luxury thanks to Drake Anderson’s skill. This change is evidence of the impact that careful design can have. It demonstrates how a room can be redesigned to respect the past while welcoming the future, resulting in a family home that serves as a haven and a reflection of the people who live there. Homes should adapt to suit new requirements and goals while preserving the core of what makes each family home special as they grow and develop. Take inspiration from another family home for your own transformation.

Architect George focused on removing non-structural walls and layers of adornment to open up the floor plan. This approach provided unobstructed views of the lush heritage gardens surrounding the apartment. Enclosed verandas were cleverly integrated with the interior, beautifully blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living spaces. This design strategy not only amplified the sense of openness but also enhanced the apartment’s functionality, aligning perfectly with modern interior design principles. Seamless Spaces: Key Architectural Adjustments for Modern Living The renovation of this Sydney apartment focused on creating a fluid and accessible environment through strategic architectural adjustments. One of the most significant changes was the leveling of floor surfaces. Previously, the enclosed balconies had step-down levels that disrupted the flow between spaces. By aligning these levels with the adjacent living areas, Architect George achieved a seamless integration of the indoor and outdoor spaces, reflecting the principles of modern design. This adjustment not only improved accessibility but also enhanced the apartment’s functionality, making it an ideal setting for contemporary living and social gatherings. The open floor plan now allows for an uninterrupted visual experience of the surrounding heritage gardens, emphasizing the modern design ethos of blending practicality with aesthetic appeal. Timeless Textures: Materials, Textiles, and Aesthetic Choices Material selection played a crucial role in ensuring the renovation’s success, seamlessly blending the apartment’s historical charm with modern design. Architect George carefully chose materials that would both respect the apartment’s original 1970s aesthetic and introduce contemporary touches. Granite and stone were used for their timeless durability and sophisticated appearance, creating a harmonious balance with the existing architectural elements. Chrome and bronze accents were incorporated to add a sleek, modern edge, further enhancing the visual narrative. Textiles were another pivotal aspect of the design, enhancing both comfort and style. Velvety carpets in shades of plum and grey were selected to add a luxurious, soft texture to the sitting areas, bedrooms, and study. These rich tones echo the retro charm of the apartment while providing the plush comfort expected in modern design. Rugs were carefully chosen to complement the aesthetic and create cohesive spaces within the apartment. In the living room and bedrooms, handpicked rugs in muted tones and intricate patterns add depth and warmth, grounding the modern interior design with a touch of classic elegance. These rugs not only enhance the visual appeal but also contribute to the cozy, inviting atmosphere throughout the home. Eclectic Elegance: A Harmonious Blend of Furniture and Decor The furniture and decor in this renovation are a testament to the successful integration of modern interior design with classic elements. The living room features iconic 1960s furniture such as Hans J. Wegner’s Ox Chair and Bruno Mathsson’s Karin armchair. These vintage pieces are juxtaposed with contemporary items like Nina Jobs’ Poppy Big pouf, creating a dynamic and eclectic space. This combination illustrates how modern interior design can embrace historical pieces while introducing fresh, current elements. In the dining area, the monolithic marble dining table, a cherished original piece, is paired with Shiro Kuramata’s 01 Chairs and Achille Castiglioni’s Taraxacum 88 ceiling light. These 1980s designs add a sophisticated touch and enhance the modern appeal of the space. The carefully curated selection of decor and furniture not only reflects the apartment’s historical roots but also demonstrates a commitment to modern interior design principles. This blend of vintage and contemporary pieces creates a cohesive and visually engaging environment, showcasing how thoughtful decor choices can bridge different eras and styles seamlessly. A Symphony of History and Modern Interior Design This stunning renovation in Sydney’s Double Bay exemplifies the perfect blend of historical charm and modern interior design. By respecting the apartment’s original character while integrating contemporary elements, Architect George has created a space that is both nostalgic and fresh. We are inspired by this seamless fusion of old and new, and it’s a testament to how thoughtful design can transform living spaces. How a Seaside Apartment Transformed into a Design-Led Vacation Home

Originally intended as a holiday home, the seaside apartment has evolved into a dynamic show space filled with curated works. When business and life partners Albane Paret and Micha Pycke bought a seaside apartment in Ostend, a town rich in Paret’s personal history, they set off on a transformative adventure. Initially meant to serve as a vacation residence, the seaside apartment quickly transformed into a vibrant showcase for modern design. Brimming with creations from friends and associates, encompassing items embodied by their design collective, Club Paradis. The couple’s goal, the refurbishment process, and the carefully chosen collection that currently characterizes the space are all covered in detail in this piece. From Holiday Home to Design Show Space The initial goal of Paret and Pycke’s journey was to establish a vacation resort. Nevertheless, a more ambitious initiative was quickly inspired by their profound admiration of art and craftsmanship. “We have always been drawn to beautiful things, craftsmanship, and art, but it wasn’t until we bought the flat last summer that an idea grew to do something more than just decorating and renting it out,” Paret told Dezeen. They envisioned an inspiring space where items and artwork could be displayed to their greatest advantage by collaborating with their network of designers and artists. Embracing Ostend’s Historical Charm Being Paret’s childhood home, Ostend, which is situated between Bruges and the French border, has a particular place in her heart. The seaside apartment boasts a huge bay window, herringbone parquet flooring, ornate crown mouldings, and a marble fireplace, among other historical touches that add to its rich character. These historical components offered the ideal setting for the modern pieces they intended to present. A Thoughtful Renovation The couple decided to make improvements to the seaside apartment while keeping its historic charm, so they started a thorough renovation. The kitchen, dining area, and living room are now all part of a large open-plan concept that was made possible by the restoration of formerly divided spaces. The functional and aesthetic qualities of the flat were improved by this makeover, which also gave the couple’s carefully chosen collection a flexible canvas. Showcasing Contemporary Design The focal point of the makeover to this seaside apartment is an Atelier Ternier custom-designed kitchen with an undulating wall unit of lacquered sapele mahogany and an expertly made island of brushed stainless steel. This remarkable mix of materials and textures perfectly captures the modern and historic elements of the residence. The living space includes spectacular carpets by textile artist Christoph Hefti and unique furniture like the Wire C#1 wall cabinet and the Pillow Sofa by Muller Van Severen. The distinctive look of the seaside apartment is enhanced by these carefully chosen objects that stand out for their craftsmanship and design. A Living, Evolving Space The seaside apartment is seen by Paret and Pycke as a dynamic, ever-evolving project. “It’s not a gallery, nor a showroom or a shop, but a curated space where the works and objects are put to everyday use, away from the sacredness of the museum and the white cube,” Paret said. They intend to change the area frequently, changing out the artwork and furniture to make place for new additions. By using this strategy, the apartment is maintained lively and reflects their continued interest in modern design. A Personal Touch The couple’s intimate relationship with the designers and furnishings in the residence gives it a special quality. “It’s a very personal project,” Paret declared. “We chose objects and furniture from artists, designers, craftspeople, and galleries that we know, which is why a lot of pieces are from Belgian designers.” The collection is an authentic representation of their preferences and connections within the design world because every decision was motivated by an emotion or attraction to a certain item or creator. International Influences International items are included in the collection, however Belgian designers and studios make up the majority of the pieces. A silk blanket that has been quilted by the Georgian design team Rooms Studio, for instance, is displayed as an artwork that incorporates elements of worldwide culture. The collection is further diversified with textiles and accessories from Danish labels Hay and Tekla, which highlights the couple’s appreciation of design even outside of their personal circles. Living and Sharing the Space The seaside apartment is meant to serve as a communal area as well as a place for solitude. With a double bed in the main room and bunk beds in the second bedroom, it can accommodate five people in two bedrooms. Depending on when it is reserved, Paret and Pycke intend to use the space all year round. Because of its dual purpose, the seaside apartment may continue to be both a useful place to live and an inspiring focal point. Books and publications from their own collection are displayed on tastefully designed shelves throughout the house, adding to its cozy atmosphere. Paret went on, “If we come for a weekend, it has to be well thought out for us too,” highlighting how crucial comfort and usefulness are in their layout. The lively exhibition room that Albane Paret and Micha Pycke created in their seaside apartment skillfully combines modern style with old world charm. They have created a dynamic and ever-evolving place that can be used as a personal retreat or as an inspiration for others, thanks to careful renovations and a well chosen collection of art and design pieces. Their narrative demonstrates the ability of design to change environments and the significance of interpersonal relationships in producing interiors that have purpose. Discover the magic of blending historical charm with contemporary design in this stunning seaside apartment Get inspired by the innovative transformation and unique pieces showcased in this evolving design-led home to make your onw renovation.

Design Inspirations — 101 lessons on Wabi Sabi Design Style

Discovering your home’s perfect style can be daunting, but we’ve simplified it. Explore Wabi Sabi design inspirations for a natural and beautiful rug. Directly from Japan, Wabi-Sabi is a life philosophy that seeks simple concepts, natural materials, and the beauty of small things. This philosophy is not just a style but a way of life that can be adapted to any home. Over the years, this philosophy has been recreated in Western homes. It all began with the tea master Sen no Rikyu, who believed that the tea ceremony was not entirely tied to the ritual but rather to the atmosphere and space. In this article, we will delve into the design inspirations of Wabi-Sabi and how we can make our homes more minimalist and relaxed. Designers from all corners of the world seek this Japanese philosophy in everything from fashion to literature and interior design. Wabi Sabi as a Life Philosophy One of the mantras of Wabi Sabi design is using natural materials, where wood, stone, and clay are highlighted in their purest state. This style appreciates imperfections and allows them to harmonize with the space. The relentless pursuit of happiness in the small things is one of the most potent cores of this design style, where less brings peace to our space. “Less is more,” and the Wabi Sabi style excels in showcasing the simplicity characteristic of traditional Japanese homes. This simplicity is evident in the sense of space and natural light. These design inspirations lead to various adaptations in the modern world, which increasingly seek to recreate and embrace the past. Using neutral and raw tones in Wabi-Sabi interiors is a core aspect of this philosophy. These colors help highlight the beauty of decorative pieces. This concept avoids furniture with solid colors to maintain the minimalist beauty of the space. These neutral tones give a fresher look to any room and make homes appear larger and more spacious. Another design inspiration that will make all the difference is handmade objects. Wabi-Sabi promotes authenticity and exclusivity, valuing items that are unique and special to us. The textures, materials, and shapes are essential for creating harmony and balance. In a world dominated by mass production, it’s intriguing to celebrate unique pieces, and when they are made by us, they become even more special. When we move to the bathroom, the presence of a Wabi Sabi philosophy becomes noticeable. Stone, wood, and neutral colors are prominent in these spaces. These design inspirations, including the incorporation of wood and some plants, help to enhance the environment, making it more inviting and relaxing. After a long day at work, it’s always nice to unwind in a clean and minimalist bathroom with scented bath salts. Regarding lighting, using natural light instead of artificial light is one of the pillars of this design inspiration, as artificial light is not relaxing and disrupts the balance we seek. Natural light enhances a space’s ambiance and contributes to overall well-being by creating a more soothing and harmonious environment. In contrast, artificial light often fails to replicate the calming effects of natural illumination, potentially leading to discomfort and imbalance. The true essence of Wabi Sabi’s design style lies in finding happiness in the small things in life, particularly in a society that is constantly on the move and surrounded by mass production and material waste. Therefore, Wabi Sabi must be present in our lives, even when making small home changes. Ready to revolutionize your home? These design inspirations will breathe new life into your decor. We’re introducing a fresh balance concept that guides you through even the most demanding, most stressful days. Envision a space where natural light, soothing colors, and innovative layouts craft a haven for your mind and body. It’s all about turning your home into a place of tranquility and rejuvenation.
